Today was a big day for Miles! Keysville Mobile Veterinary Services came for a visit, and he did a great job with them!
When Miles first arrived at MRK9 Inc., he was too nervous to be touched, let alone examined. With Bart, Betsy and Diana being with him daily his confidence grew each day, he allowed the vet to do a full check up with no issues like before with his nervousness. They pulled blood work, gave him his second and final distemper vaccine, administered the Bordetella oral vaccine, and for the first time, we were able to get his weight! Miles is a healthy 64lbs! 🐕
We couldn’t weigh him before because he just wasn’t too trusting. Today proved how far he’s come! This is a huge step in his journey, and we couldn’t be prouder of Miles! ❤️
In addition to getting the blood work done, we also received his rapid test results. Miles tested positive for Lyme disease, but thankfully, he’s not showing any symptoms. He’s now being treated with Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg capsules, twice daily. As a precaution to keep his tummy feeling good, he’s also taking Proviable probiotics for the next 30 days. They also checked his teeth for an overbite which the vet claims is because he’s mixed with a Boxer, and his teeth look amazing!
We’re so grateful to have such a great vet team in Keysville Mobile Veterinary Services, and even more thankful to see Miles thriving and making such incredible progress! ❤️
